A painting of a tree and swimming pool

The favourite artists of an artist!

I love other people's art just as much as I love making my own. That's part of the reason I set up Thursday Arts Club, because yes the thought of people having my art on their walls fills me with joy, but also, I'm a match maker at heart, so if it's not my work then please can I show you some other things you might love!?

So, with that in mind here are some of my favourite artists, whose work is on my walls at home:

Paul Smith: A artist local to my area, he works in a nearby studio and exhibited as part of the RA summer exhibition this year. I love the way he paints, the subjects, palette, tone, light, everything! His paintings give me an escape, a dream, a Lana Del Ray soundtrack in my head. Gorgeous. https://www.paulsmithart.co.uk/

Ruth Mulvie: I first encountered Ruth at The Other Art Fair in a few years ago and was blown away by her use of colour. Her compositions and subjects are right up my street, and with her excellent eye she creates scenes with just the perfect amount of kitsch. I only have one print at the moment but the joy it brings to my walls and my eyes. Love. https://www.ruthmulvie.com/

Seth Armstrong: An LA based artist that I was introduced to a couple of years back. His use of colour and the way he catches the light is phenomenal. I've never been to LA but I feel like I have thanks to his work, utterly lovely, no notes. https://www.setharmstrong.com/

I'm lucky enough to have prints from all the above. One day when my own art starts making me money (#manifesting) I hope to be able to have an original.

So there's three, there are many more. Perhaps I'll make this a little series!

And as always, there are some lovely pieces from myself and others on Thursday Arts Club, so do have a look!
