Art and activities for kids, updated!

Hello,

With the summer fast approaching, I've been asked about more art supplies and activities for kids, so here's an update on where we are with a 6 year old!

These watercolour paint pads are so clever! They come with pre-drawn illustrations and dry paint pallettes with every page. The brush is at the back of the pad, so all you need is some water and you're off. So easy to use, no mess and the added bonus of them being postcards that you can then get the kids to write on, such a great product. Love.

Extra tip, is that if it's nice out, then you can use these outside with ease, just fill up a little water spray.

Nature (dog) walks are everyday in our house, but sometimes a little more coaxing is needed. This usually comes in the form of a simple nature checklist, made into some sort of competition, with the prize being ice cream, naturally. But we also enjoy collecting pebbles to paint, flowers to press or taking photos.

I also saw this great video of someone who had drawn a picture of a face onto cardboard, poked holes in the hairline and then you pick flowers to put them through the holes and make a flower crown. Or even simpler, just draw a vase. Lovely stuff.

As a family, we are prone to rushing...not because we're late, just because we are the opposite of dawdlers. It causes entirely unnecessary stress so I have to give myself a bit of the,'it's the journey not the destination' chat. Anyway, one way round this is that I now intentionally stop, by bringing a skipping rope or ball to the park it just makes us all stop trying to move all the time!

That's it for now, I have to pick up my daughter and off to the park we go!

If you have any great reccos, pls do send them over to me Thursday.arts.club@gmail.com
