An intro to Thursday Arts Club: affordable originals, kids’ wall art, prints & commissions

Hello, and thanks so much for being here! I’m Alex and I work under the name FACE, which is my school nickname for unflattering reasons that I won’t go into now. I’m the founder of Thursday Arts Club, a creative space dedicated to original wall art, playful prints, and illustrated greeting cards. 

My dream is to build a place where people come for affordable, joyful art that supports small businesses and emerging artists. A place where families can find unique kids’ wall art and illustrated prints that aren’t mass-produced, but full of fun and personality.

Who Am I?

By day, I’m a brand strategist, a job I love, but one I hope to leave behind so I can fully dedicate myself to Thursday Arts Club. 

I was born in Singapore and have spent my adult life living in different hot countries around the globe, which explains my inescapable obsession with all things tropical.

I’m not a formally trained artist, so the imposter syndrome is real! But creating art is what I love to do, and so I’m trying not to let self-doubt get in the way. Thursday evenings became my creative sanctuary, and slowly the idea of a shop and gallery grew until I could no longer ignore it.

My day to day joys include, but are not limited to: dogs, palm trees and any other tropical motifs, podcasts, pandas, gold hoop earrings, pasta and below deck.

Oh and did I mention I love dogs? I have one, Baxter, he’s a Singapore street dog that’s more cat than dog in personality, and he is everything.

How Thursday Arts Club Began

Thursday Arts Club was born out of those evenings spent sketching and painting. What started as a small creative outlet has now become a community where people can buy affordable originals, kids’ wall art, joyful prints and homewares, and original greeting cards that bring colour and personality into their homes.

It’s also a place for playfulness; a place for art that makes people smile. Not “too kiddy,” but still fun, lighthearted, and perfect for children’s bedrooms or family spaces.

• Illustrated prints and greeting cards – affordable gifts created by me and other independent artists.
• Art commissions – bespoke artworks for families, kids, or as thoughtful presents.
  

Every piece is made with love, creativity, and a touch of tropical joy. 

Commissions Welcome

All the artists on Thursday Arts Club, myself included, are open to commissions. Whether you’re looking for a personalised piece of art for a child’s bedroom, or turning their favourite toy into an artwork, a unique family gift, or something completely bespoke, we’d love to create it for you.
